| more without detonation on average ... I wouldn't recommend advancing timing unless you have a setup such as AEM EMS where you can have a failsafe incase the injection fails ... I would recommend just getting a more efficient turbo as a preferred choice ( water injection is cheaper than a turbo upgrade though ) . It will generate less heat and stress on the engine / system. Water Injection is really beneficial in the summer months and in areas that don't have 93/94 octane at the pump aka : California ) IMHO - WI is a "no brainer" for an extra buffer ( same boost levels ) but it can easily be used for more / higher PSI at the same or safer A/F ratio levels red line = 1.4 bar pump gas ~ 94 octane ( no detonation ) blue line = 1.65 bar pump gas w/ WI ~ 94 octane ( no detonation )
